Burundi is included in the site’s dated snapshot of FTX provider restrictions. A country restriction does not establish an individual claim’s status or transferability. Check the recorded amount, then request an individual purchase review. FTX SELL may decline a purchase.
Why the payout is unavailable
FTX offers no explanations by country. The arrangement is the same everywhere: three providers, each deciding for itself, with the portal showing those that fit the residential address.
Burundi is on the list along with two regional neighbours, Rwanda and the DRC, but unlike the Central African countries they form no monetary union and no common explanation is visible between them.
The reason is not known. The only checkable thing to point at is market size: a population of around thirteen million, one of the lowest incomes per person in the world, and a number of FTX creditors there most likely counted in single figures. Companies building coverage around large markets skip such jurisdictions. That is reasoning, not fact.
I am from this country. What do I do?
- Request an offer to sell your claim. Fill in the form: country, code and contact details. There is no obligation before signing.
- Check that the claim is allowed. The claims agent runs a public search that takes an FTX Customer Code with no portal login.
- Close out identity verification and tax forms if they are open. They do not depend on a provider, and nothing works without them.
