Country list: 1 October 2026; source updated: 2 October 2026

Iran is included in the site’s dated snapshot of FTX provider restrictions. FTX SELL does not buy claims from this jurisdiction. Check your individual claim status and current provider guidance; a country list does not determine your claim’s legal status.
Why the payout is unavailable
Iran is under comprehensive US sanctions. Unlike most countries on our list, where only the way money is delivered is restricted, here the transaction itself is restricted: buying a claim from an Iranian resident by a US or US-connected buyer is prohibited.
This is not our assessment of risk, and not caution. There is no way around it through a third country, an intermediary, or registering the claim in someone else's name. Anyone offering you such an arrangement is offering you a bigger problem than the one you have.
Separately about the FTX portal. Iran is also on the list of jurisdictions with no payout provider available, so choosing a way to receive money from there is not possible either.
An important distinction. If you are an Iranian citizen but live and bank in another country, the restriction does not apply to you: it attaches to place of residence, not to a passport. Read the page for the country where you actually live.
What you can do now
Check the state of the claim yourself. The claims agent in the FTX case runs a public search: it takes an FTX Customer Code, needs no portal login and works from anywhere. It is free and depends on nobody.
Complete identity verification and tax forms if they are open. They depend neither on a provider nor on us, and without them any future receipt of money is impossible.
Watch the FTX list. It changes: Nigeria was named among unavailable countries in January 2025 and is no longer on the list dated 1 October 2026. For Iran that is harder to expect, but the claim stays yours and is not going anywhere.
I am from this country. What do I do?
- Check that the claim is allowed. The claims agent runs a public search that takes an FTX Customer Code with no portal login.
- Close out identity verification and tax forms if they are open. They do not depend on a provider, and nothing works without them.
