Why the payout is unavailable
FTX publishes no reasons by country. There are three providers, each deciding for itself, with the portal showing those that fit the residential address, and for Malawi none fits.
Context: the country is landlocked and has in recent years faced a shortage of foreign currency, which has led banks to restrict dollar operations. For a payments company that means a transfer to a local bank may not reach the recipient in time even where sending it is formally possible.
No provider has made any statement about this. We give the situation, not a reason.
I am from this country. What do I do?
- Request an offer to sell your claim. Fill in the form: country, code and contact details. There is no obligation before signing.
- Check that the claim is allowed. The claims agent runs a public search that takes an FTX Customer Code with no portal login.
- Close out identity verification and tax forms if they are open. They do not depend on a provider, and nothing works without them.
