Country list: 1 October 2026; source updated: 2 October 2026
The FTX Support list is dated 1 October 2026; the source page was updated on 2 October 2026. It does not determine your individual claim status. Check current provider guidance and your Customer Portal. Current FTX provider guidance
Maldives is included in the site’s dated snapshot of FTX provider restrictions. A country restriction does not establish an individual claim’s status or transferability. Check the recorded amount, then request an individual purchase review. FTX SELL may decline a purchase.
Why the payout is unavailable
Why the Maldives ended up on the list is not known. We will not offer guesses.
The Maldives fall under none of the reasons given for the rest of the list. There are no sanctions. Nor is there a direct prohibition on cryptocurrency of the Algerian or Bangladeshi kind: no separate regulation in the area has been created at all, which is not the same thing.
Only the mechanism is known. Three providers, each deciding for itself, with the portal showing those that fit the residential address. For the Maldives none does, and FTX does not say why.
The most plausible checkable explanation is the same as Guernsey's: provider coverage. The country's population is around half a million, and companies building coverage around large markets skip such jurisdictions. But that is reasoning, not fact.
The Maldives do not show on the world map, they are too small for the file it is drawn from. Look for yourself in the text list below it.
What you can do now
Watch the list. For a jurisdiction with no sanctions and no direct prohibitions the odds of a provider appearing look no worse than for other entries, but nobody offers promises.
I am from this country. What do I do?
- Request an offer to sell your claim. Fill in the form: country, code and contact details. There is no obligation before signing.
- Check that the claim is allowed. The claims agent runs a public search that takes an FTX Customer Code with no portal login.
- Close out identity verification and tax forms if they are open. They do not depend on a provider, and nothing works without them.
