Why the payout is unavailable
FTX publishes no reasons by country. The mechanism is the common one: three providers, each deciding for itself, with the portal showing those that fit the residential address. For Sudan none fits.
The situation is difficult. Since 2023 an armed conflict has been under way in the country, the banking system works intermittently and international transfers are heavily impeded. Some organisations and individuals are under international restrictions.
Now the common mistake. Sudan is often grouped with countries under a full embargo, as Iran, Cuba and North Korea are. That is not the case: the restrictions there are targeted, aimed at specific individuals and organisations rather than at everyone living in the country. That is why we do buy Sudan, unlike those four, where the refusal is categorical.
In practice this means a closer check of the seller than usual, not a refusal on the basis of the country.
What you can do now
Separate the two problems. Even if a provider appears, delivering money to an account inside the country will remain a separate difficulty.
Selling the claim removes both: settlement is in USDT or USDC, not a transfer to a local bank. The check on the seller will be closer than usual in your case, and that is a normal part of the work rather than a refusal.

- Request an offer to sell your claim. Fill in the form: country, code and contact details. There is no obligation before signing.
- Check that the claim is allowed. The claims agent runs a public search that takes an FTX Customer Code with no portal login.
- Close out identity verification and tax forms if they are open. They do not depend on a provider, and nothing works without them.
